Ghana’s Green Future: DYE Conference 2023 Sets Stage for Sustainable Entrepreneurship

Accra, Ghana – June 24th, 2023 -The Developing Youth Ecopreneurs Conference (DYEC) 2023 concluded with a resounding call to action for young people to drive innovation and lead the fight against climate change. Held on June 24th 2023, the conference organised by Green Africa Youth Organization (GAYO) in collaboration with World Inspiring Network, Empowerment WORKS Inc., US Embassy Ghana, & Pan African Youth Union, 10 Billion Strong, B. Inspired With Stories from Africa (B.ISA) & SESA Recycling brought together over 400 in-person delegates and over 100 online participants from across the globe, all united by a shared passion for sustainability and entrepreneurship.

The event served as a unique platform for showcasing the power of young minds, with innovative projects like Clean Coal Team, Re-Eco12 Team, Bee-Live Smart Team, and Mush Mill Team taking home $1,000 each to kickstart their eco-initiatives. From tackling waste management to promoting beekeeping and mushroom cultivation, these projects represented a glimpse into the future of green innovation.

In the media, agriculture, circular economy, and ecopreneurship equipped young minds with the tools and knowledge they need to become tomorrow’s changemakers.

Adding his voice to the call for action, Maxwell Odonkor, Founder and Executive Director of World Inspiring Network, emphasised the crucial role of youth in the fight against climate change. “Social media is a powerful tool that young people can leverage to spread awareness and educate others about Climate Change,” he stated. “Take advantage of its reach and become advocates for a sustainable future.”

The DYEC 2023 wasn’t just about local impact. The GECCC, comprising 11 university chapters across 10 regions in Ghana, aims to scale the conference’s impact to Uganda and other African countries, building a robust network of eco-conscious leaders across the continent.

With its resounding success, the DYEC 2023 has established itself as a beacon of hope for a greener future. By fostering innovation, collaboration, and youth empowerment, the conference has sent a powerful message: the future belongs to the audacious, the eco-conscious, and the young.
