The highly anticipated Green Action Project is set to launch tomorrow, August 1st, 2024, at 4:00 PM GMT. This groundbreaking initiative aims to empower Ghanaian youth to become eco-entrepreneurs and environmental leaders, marking a significant step forward in the fight against climate change and the promotion of sustainable development.
The Green Action Project is designed to equip 30 young individuals with the skills, knowledge, and resources needed to develop green businesses and lead climate action initiatives. Through comprehensive training, mentorship, and hands-on workshops, participants will be transformed into Green Action Leaders, ready to tackle environmental challenges and drive sustainable growth in their communities.
The program offers a hybrid learning experience, combining online and in-person activities. Participants will delve into essential topics such as environmental literacy, sustainable development, green business ideation, and pitching skills. The learning journey culminates in the Green Action Summit, where participants will present their green business ideas to a panel of judges, with top ideas receiving recognition and support for implementation.
The launch event will feature an impressive lineup of speakers, including Alimatou Nyass the Head of Administration for World Inspiring Network, Carla Uma Sarah Hermanussen the Research Associate in Geography Education of Technische Universität Dresden, Natasha Sena A. Abraham the Manager of Africa Business Bureau, Elisabeth Thouet a current visiting Analyst with the Nature-Fintech The Landbanking Group, and Maxwell Odonkor the Founder and Executive Director of World Inspiring Network. The Green Action Project is brought to life through a collaborative effort led by World Inspiring Network, in partnership with Engagement Global through its ASA Program, the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), GlobalGiving, 10 Billion Strong, The Production Masters, Maxibern and other partners. This collaboration highlights a shared commitment to environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and youth empowerment.
